R. Kelly Makes African Debut

R&B superstar R. KELLY will perform in Africa this week (begs15Jun09) for the first time in his 20-year career. The Bump N’ Grind hitmaker is due to take to the stage in Johannesburg, South Africa on Saturday (20Jun09) to headline the ARISE African Fashion Awards.

He will go on to play two more dates in the country before heading to Nigeria as part of the annual ThisDay music and fashion festival in July (09).

Kelly can’t wait to make his mark in the continent - and is already predicting the concert will be one to remember.

He says, "I’m very excited about my first visit to Africa. I’ve dreamed about this for a long time and it’s finally here.

"It will be one of the highlights of not only my career but my life. I can’t wait to perform in front of my fans in Africa, who have been some of the best in the world. - Mafaro.com
